Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2, 2026

Dodd Story Media LLC, a Florida limited liability company doing business as Attractions POV (“we,” “us,” or “our”), operates this website at attractionspov.com (the “Site”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have. We wrote this ourselves, in plain language, for our own Site — it only describes what Attractions POV actually does.

Information We Collect

Account information. If you create an account to comment or use the community forum, we collect the username, email address, and password you provide. Your email address is used to verify your account and is never shown publicly.

Content you submit. Comments, forum posts, and anything else you post publicly through your account.

Contact form. If you reach out through our Contact page, we collect whatever you include — typically your name, email address, and message — so we can reply.

Automatically collected data. Like most websites, we automatically receive some technical information from your browser when you visit — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring site — through the cookies and analytics tools described below.

Cookies We Use

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store, so the site can recognize you on a later visit. Here’s what’s actually running on attractionspov.com:

Category What it’s for Source
Strictly necessary Keeps you logged into your account, and remembers your name/email if you check “remember me” when commenting. The Site can’t function without these. First-party (WordPress)
Site analytics WordPress.com’s built-in Stats, and Google Analytics, tell us how many people visit, which pages they read, and how they found us, so we know what to build more of. First-party (WordPress.com) and third-party (Google)
Video playback Our videos are embedded from YouTube. Playing one lets Google/YouTube set their own cookies, which they use for playback and their own ad personalization — this happens on Google’s side, not ours. Third-party (Google/YouTube)
Spam protection Comments are checked against Akismet, a spam-filtering service, which reviews the comment text and your IP address. Third-party (Automattic)

“Notify Me” Ride Alerts

If you’re logged in, you can opt to be emailed when a specific ride reopens. This uses the email address already on your account — we don’t collect a separate email for it. It’s entirely self-service: you turn it on and off yourself with the notification button, and once we send the one alert you asked for, the request is automatically cleared from our system.

How We Use Information

We use the information above to operate and improve the Site, respond to messages you send us, send account-related emails (verification, password resets, ride-reopening alerts you opted into), keep comments and the forum free of spam, and understand how people use the Site so we know what to build next.

We do not sell your personal information.

Who We Share Information With

We share information only with the service providers that help us run the Site, each acting on our behalf:

  • WordPress.com / Automattic — our hosting provider, which also powers our built-in site statistics.
  • Google — for YouTube video embeds and Google Analytics.
  • Akismet (Automattic) — for comment spam filtering.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Attractions POV or our users.

Your Choices

  • Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking necessary cookies may mean some features (like staying logged in) won’t work.
  • You can opt out of Google Analytics specifically using Google’s browser add-on.
  • You can turn ride-reopening notifications on or off anytime from your account.
  • You can ask us to update or delete your account and the personal information tied to it by contacting us below.

Children’s Privacy

Attractions POV is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we’ll remove it.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the Site changes. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date above whenever we do, and if a change is significant, we’ll make that clear on the Site.
